I've just started putting my first roll through this new-to-me Olympus Pen F half frame camera, and I'm already finding it a joy to use. Solid feel, fully mechanical, thoughtful placement, and an SLR!

This camera, a Kodak 9A Century Studio Camera, was manufactured in the 1920s. Displayed here in the Pioneer Village Museum in Cedaredge, Colorado, it forcibly reminded me of Lewis Carroll's spoof of Walt Whitman's poem, Hiawatha

This he perched upon a tripod -

Stretched his hand, enforcing silence -

Mystic, awful was the process.
