AmandineToday someone came to my door to sell me plants. I bought a pepper plant in a pot. Turned out to be 3 plants. They are now on separate pots. I guess I'm back to gardening. ZumbadorStriped field mouse in my backyard. Drinking from the pond, and nibbling on a grass seed. I always love seeing little creature drinking from the pond. ZumbadorI found this little Cape Burrowing Scorpion this morning, clinging to the side of my garden pond. I think it must have fallen in and gotten chilled, and wasn't strong enough to climb the rest of the way. It's so pale, I thought at first that it was just a cast-off skin of a scorpion, but no, it was the whole creature. I helped it out, and after a bit of a rest to warm up, it crawled away. ZumbadorSee the frog? This is the first frog I've found in my backyard! I put the pond in a few years ago, and have been waiting hopefully, and now finally, a frog has arrived!!! ZumbadorI went to clean the filter of my garden pond this morning, and found it already occupied! I am so pleased to see a (endangered) leopard toad enjoying the pond. It's been so hot and dry around here, it must be a relief to it to find a sheltered watery spot. A bit later I saw it swimming in a deeper part of the pond.
