Folks, please don’t be so hard on Labour.

It’s not easy laying the foundations for the UK’s upcoming fascist government. (The Democrats should know; it takes dedicated effort.)

They’re working as hard as they can as it is to ensure the UK follows in the footsteps of the US.

People are going to die because of your government's policies. You have trans constituents; they are hurting. Some will be contemplating suicide right now. Others are going to be assaulted today. Cis people will be assaulted today because someone else thinks they might not be performing gender correctly.

So, Vicky, what are you going to do about it?

Dani Davis (a cis woman in America) has been sacked from Walmart for using the women's toilets because she was too tall and a customer complained about her presence. Caster Semenya (another cis woman) was banned from the Olympics for not conforming to White definitions of femininity. Transphobes relentlessly bullied Imane Khelif (another cis woman) for winning medals at the Olympics because she didn't look sufficiently feminine.

This is genocide against trans people. Noted transphobe Graham Linehan said the Supreme Court ruling means it's time to start sexually assaulting any woman who looks like she might be trans.

But trans people aren't the only ones who will be harmed by this government's actions. Any woman who doesn't look sufficiently feminine will be the target of violent transphobes – and this will predominantly harm women of colour.

I knew Labour wasn't going do anything to help trans people. But I foolishly hoped you'd stop the endless scapegoating of trans people.

Oh boy, was I wrong.

To watch the Prime Minister say that trans women should use men's toilets broke my heart. To watch Labour MPs celebrating trans genocide made me weep. To watch a Labour government pursuing a trans agenda that would make Donald Trump jealous makes me afraid.

As mentioned in my last email, I was so excited about this new Labour government. Let's be honest – I knew that, under Starmer, Labour wasn't going to be good to trans people. But I thought at least you stop making things perpetually worse for our trans siblings.

I knew Labour wasn't going to champion trans rights. But I hoped you'd at least ignore trans people.

My email to my British MP, Vicky Foxcroft, who has previously been supportive of #TransRights

This is genocide.

No, I'm not talking about what Israel is doing in Palestine – though that is genocide too.

I'm talking about the #Labour government's decision to will trans people out of existence. And I need to know, what are you going to do about it?

The UK Supreme Court ruled that legal sex is defined biologically—not by gender identity—and politicians rushed to welcome the “clarity.”

But what they’re really doing is stepping back .

No plan for third spaces. No public investment. No attempt to lead. Just a shrug—and a quiet hope that businesses, not government, will clean up the mess.

In this piece for Vox Political, I explore the ruling, the political language around it, and what it says about who we elect.

No majority exists in New Zealand for producing legislation to define what is a "woman" and a "man" and that it is worthy of anyone's time or attention. Except a near octogenarian utterly obsessed with "woke" and a small cadre of dinosaur thinkers. This will only cause unnecessary division and more suffering for our trans community, while also backing an agenda to limit and control rights based on a very narrow view of gender.
