Hartmut Seichter<p>How big is the pain in the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gnome</span></a> community in regard of a usable and convenient photo import UI? I am starting to grow really impatient with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/shotwell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shotwell</span></a> - looking at the issue tracker (<a href="https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/shotwell/-/issues" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/shotwel</span><span class="invisible">l/-/issues</span></a>) yields similar errors in regard to iPhone, gvfs and gphoto2 for over 14 years. I was thinking of something like a simple import tool and let <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/loupe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>loupe</span></a> do the rest. Any takers?</p>

It's nice &amp; useful, proud to support them on Patreon!</p>

werdahias (tired)I am glad to announce that <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.debian.social/tag/loupe" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Loupe</a> 48.beta, the default <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.debian.social/tag/gnome" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#GNOME</a> image viewer, is available in <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.debian.social/tag/debian" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Debian</a> now. After a month of working on package updates I am finally done. This release ships with basic image editing like flipping and cropping. The upcoming <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.debian.social/tag/debian" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Debian</a> Trixie release will have with this functionality, too.
