Many people have no idea of its original meaning, hence it has lost its meaning and if I have to define the term everytime I use it, I may as well not use it.</p><p>Ergo: I use ‘social democracy’ labels instead. Both term are largely understood and their meaning hasn’t been so tarnished with erroneous/devious misuse. </p><p>That’s just my take though…<br>‘No borders’ sounds idillic but, like paradise/nirvana, beyond humanity’s reach IMO.</p>

Christian fundamentalism ( Christo-fascism)<br>2. Segregation. Jim Crow, Apartheid - call it what you will. Maybe just racism. <br>3. States rights. Basically the ability of states to enforce #1 and #2. And keep the feds out. </p><p>Gerrymandering has been a key factor for their success. Stacking the courts and electing incompetent morons who can be easily manipulated is a contributing factor too. But the most important thing is money. Lots and lots of money. Hire lawyers Fund think tanks. Flood every news zone. Buy social media. Control the news cycle 24 hours a day. Instill hatred, fear and insecurity. And lie.
