So, the idiot administration in the US has released their "reciprocal tariffs" that aren't actually reciprocal.

An economist figured out where they got their bogus percentages from; it would be amusing in its stupidity if it weren't so serious. No one involved understands what a trade surplus or trade deficit is, or what it means.

But they also announced rates on "countries" that aren't countries, just territories of another nation.

They announced rates on islands that have 0 human inhabitants, and 0 economic activity, and therefore cannot possibly have a trade surplus with the US.

They announced a tariff rate on an American military base.

It is a clown show.

The question is: where did they get this bogus data from?

Was their big chart of tariff rates generated by an #LLM?

While investors watched in horror as the stock market plunged on Monday as a result of President Donald Trump’s sprawling trade wars, he was busy reposting praise for his administration on Truth Social.

The president posted over a hundred times between noon and 6 p.m. on Monday while the Nasdaq fell 4%, marking its worst day since 2022. The S&P 500 dropped almost 3%.

#Trump said during the news conference that he believes #Russia President #Putin will “keep his word” on any *peace* deal w/ #Ukraine, adding they went through the “Russian Hoax” together & dismissing Russia’s #ElectionInterference in 2016.

In a social media post Wed, #Trump called on interest rates to be lowered, saying it was “something which would go hand in hand with upcoming Tariffs!!!" [#idiot]

Speaking to lawmakers this week as part of two days of hearings, #Fed Chair #JeromePowell affirmed that a solid labor market meant the central bank did not need to be in a “hurry” to lower rates. Rather, he said the Fed was “well positioned to deal with the risks & uncertainties that we face” [aka Trump].
