Lol, Apple beating up the little people again. You want to play PS2, Gamecube, or Wii on your phone? You want to run virtual machines, like actual Arch Linux and such, with sound support I might add, on your phone? Well, that requires JIT, which pretty much just speeds up running of code that wasn't within the original app, like oh I don't know, a web browser running Javascript. Anyway, some really smart people found a way to run JIT through using a VPN connected to a server that just flips on a debug command in an app you specify. And then, they found a way to run that command on the iPhone itself, not needing a call out to someone else's server.

But Apple ain't having any of that, can't lose control one bit!

jkcoxson, Today at 12:37 AM, @everyone 😭 VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 😭
Apple has sent Blu and I a cease and desist for StikJIT and JitStreamer-EB, so affective immediate all JitStreamer and StikJIT services/repos are being removed. The server I was running has already been taken down by my hosting company, and GitHub is terminating the repository it was hosted on. This was my legacy, so it was very disappointing to see my hard work go down the drain.

On the plus side, thank you all for sticking with us, thanks for helping us realize our vision. While this isn't the way I wanted this to end, I'm glad for the time that we were able to make our dreams come true.

For a detailed response, you can head to apple-cd-response.jkcoxson.com/ where I have written my reply to Apple and the actions I will take to rectify the situation. While Blu and I can't afford to pay for an attorney, we won't let this go quietly.

Maybe the real JIT was the friends we made along the way 🥹

So here's a question... an iPhone has a thing where you can "Erase All Content and Settings" which I assume does just that.

Let's say someone is concerned with the authorities taking their phone. How much would the erasing protect the person's data & information?

And let's say the person's phone is *not* taken by authorities, could the person just restore it later from a previous backup?

Apple ID Hack — New Warning For 2 Billion Users

Apple has long since had an air of invulnerability about it as far as users have been concerned; be they iPhone, iPad or Mac fans, the ecosystem has been thought of as pretty darn secure. Like most security assumptions, however, it is wrong. […]
