A cemetery with green grass and trees bathed in afternoon sunlight. The focus is a gravestone which is carved to look like a tree stump. There are a few stumps of limbs hewn close to the trunk, and a smooth section for the inscription appears to be hung by a carved rope. M. Peck was born in 1801 and died in 1890.

The same sunlit cemetery. A thick tree trunk takes up the left half of the frame. A small rounded gravestone sits very near the base of the tree, in the shadow cast by the trunk. T. W. Sharp died in 1899.

Between the 13th and 15th of March 1941, the German airforce dropped over 250 tonnes of bombs on Clydeside, killing around 1,200 people (half in Clydebank and half in Glasgow). This gravestone in Eastwood New Cemetery is a reminder that to this day, not all the bodies of those who were killed were ever identified. It's one of half a dozen similar stones in a row tucked away at the back of the graveyard.

A simple gravestone inscribed with the words: Here are interred the remaina of eight unidentified people who were killed by enemy action in Glasgow March 1941.

A cemetery with green grass and trees bathed in afternoon sunlight. The sky is blue with many fluffy white clouds overhead. The focus is a gravestone which is carved to look like a tall tree stump. There are a few stumps of limbs hewn close to the trunk, carved fern leaves at the bottom, a vine of ivy leaves at the top, and a smooth section in the middle bears the inscription: A woman named Sarah was born in 1821 and died in 1899.

Another tall tree stump gravestone in the same cemetery, with blue sky overhead, and many trees and gravestones in the background. This one’s top looks like jagged bark, as if it were not smoothly chopped down. There are multiple carved ivy vines, and one limb is curled down, almost like the handle of a mug, and joins the smooth section for the inscription. Mary Ann, wife of D. Donaldson was born in 1829 and died in 1897.
