LittleAlex 🇺🇦🇮🇱🇩🇪🇳🇴A little known part of computer history: The East German computer Robotron PC1715, the workhorse of East German IT landscape, was extensivly used in Chernobyl, for instance the radioactivity monitoring system after the accident of 1986. Likely it was because this computers was used in an ominous research facility nearby the power plant before the accident and it was quickly available, including the interfaces and sensors. To this day it's unclear what this facility was doing and there are still some unexplained artifacts in the basement, like the "grey sand".
