Es hat ein paar besondere Features:
• Unter jeder Karte gibt es Links zu der entsprechenden Lektion in den Kursen auf https://www.50ohm.de und, sofern existent, den Videos von @dl2ymr
• Es ist krass durchgetaggt und erlaubt Filtern nach allen Klassen, allen Aufbaukursen und sogar deinem Lernstand in den 50Ohm-Kursen.
Teaser: Ich hab die letzten zwei Tage damit verbracht, ein hübsches, aktuelles, vollständiges und gut filterbares #Anki-Deck für die deutsche #Amateurfunk-Prüfung zu bauen.
Es lässt unter anderem filtern nach Klasse, Themengebiet und #50Ohm-Lektion. Und es gibt zu jeder Frage Links zu den entsprechenden Lektionen auf https://www.50ohm.de, damit man falls nötig das Thema nochmal nachlesen kann.
Muss noch ein paar Dinge testen und dokumentieren, dann gibt's ein Release.

Trying really hard to fix my bad habits with verb conjugation in French, before going to France for extended periods of the year. It's not easy to fix 10+ years of cowboy conjugation habits, I have to say. But I better just bunker up with some grammar books and some #anki cards and beat my brain into shape.

Unsere Schule möchte, dass die SuS mit digitalen Karteikarten lernen.
#Quizlet ist im Gespräch, geht aber m.M. nach gar nicht (Datenschutz).
Mein Favorit wäre #Anki. Problem ist, dass die iOS-App 25 € kostet und ca. 1/2 der SuS iPhones haben. Die könnten #AnkiWeb nutzen.
Neben dem Datenschutz (Server wohl teils in USA) habe ich Bedenken, wenn hunderte von SuS den kostenlosen Server "belagern".
Gibt es Schulen, die Anki bzw. AnkiWeb nutzen? Wie haben die es gelöst?

I'm very grateful for Anki (https://apps.ankiweb.net), a real gift of a software project and a learning tool I can't recommend enough.
It's a spaced repetition flashcard graphical application with extensive docs, desktop, web and mobile clients, numerous plugins and goes as far as offering you free syncing across all clients via its own server.

Ughhh. I reinstalled #anki on my phone to add targeted #Japanese studying to my daily list (I use #duolingo a lot but I hate the nonsensical order it adds new words, like why tf is it teaching every possible public transit - related word before colors?!) but anki is so fking obtusely designed, all I want to do is repeat study the words ALREADY INTRODUCED today, maybe extend the study session to ten or so minutes, but every "guide" I find online is only for the web browser version, and just says "read the manual" which, again, is for the web browser version, and often refers to out of data versions, so the options it says to click AREN'T THERE.
Was this app designed by a mastodon programmer or something?!

I made a gamified add-on for #Anki where you get drops and can craft items from Final Fantasy XIV. Happy to provide any info needed, and please do create an issue on GitHub if you find bugs!

I bought a paid #Anki deck today, and successfully modified its templates to do things like:
1. set appropriate `lang` attributes for the non-English text, so that a screen reader will switch pronunciation rules automatically;
2. add headings to the different sections of the answer side;
3. group certain related things on the card into lists; and
4. auto-focus the answer when it's shown.
These modifications are synced via my AnkiWeb account, so apply equally whether I'm using a browser or the iOS app. So far, I'm really happy with it as a learning tool, although I have a lot to discover now I'm not thinking about the accessibility of the cards themselves.
I think #Anki holds a great deal of potential for #blind learners of #languages and other subjects:
The desktop app uses Qt 6, so isn't entirely unusable. It's also fully open source.
The iOS app is extremely usable with VoiceOver, albeit relatively expensive for a mobile app at £24.99, and not open source.
The web interface is usable, but would currently cause people to think more about how to use it than the actual subject they were studying. Still, with some user scripting, it could be workable.
And finally, all Anki functionality is available via their Python library, which could be used in a command line app or more #accessible frontend.
Of course, the issue is always the time needed to take things from where they are now to where they need to be. And I suspect a significant challenge would be having screen readers speak/braille things in the correct language as hopefully declared by each flashcard.

Und jetzt nochmal eine #neuhier #Vorstellung auf #deutsch: Ich bin ein in #Bonn ansässiger Doktorand in der #Teilchenphysik, aber gerade im Prozess meine Doktorarbeit fertigzuschreiben und in die IT-Industrie umzusteigen. Ich bin etwas technisch orientiert und programmiere gerne, aber mag auch Datenanalyse und alles dazwischen. Technische Interessen sind u.a. #Linux, #Python, #opensource, #Emacs, aber habe auch viele nichttechnische Interessen, über die ich schreibe, wie #Laufen, #Klettern, #Sprachen (#Koreanisch, #Anki), #Fermentation, #Kochen, #Vogelbeobachtung und das #Go Spiel (#Baduk). Obwohl ich in Deutschland bin schreibe ich meist auf englisch, werde meine Posts auch entsprechend markieren. Ehemals war ich als @meliache@hep.social, bin aber heute hierher umgezogen.
