Charlie<p>So after wrapping up the <a href="https://social.veraciousnetwork.com/tags/Wiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wiki</span></a> theme for my <a href="https://social.veraciousnetwork.com/tags/Markdown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Markdown</span></a> -based (not)CMS (<a href="https://github.com/eVAL-Agency/MarkdownMasterCMS/releases/tag/v5.0.2" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/eVAL-Agency/Markdow</span><span class="invisible">nMasterCMS/releases/tag/v5.0.2</span></a>), and starting to port over some internal technical documents I've had scattered around, I thought of another useful feature for sites.... Related articles.</p><p>See, this is why I can never actually get anything done; I go to do something, and come up with an idea to improve the workflow.... so instead of _doing_ the thing, I spend time implementing a feature to make doing that thing easier, (but don't actually DO what I originally intended to in the first place!)</p><p>_sighs_</p><p>Speaking of feature requests, I'm always open to suggestions for improvements, if you're bored and want to try out weird software!</p>
Reilly Spitzfaden (they/them)<p>I've had a statuslog section on my now page (<a href="https://reillyspitzfaden.com/now/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">reillyspitzfaden.com/now/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>) for a while, and I added it to my homepage as well (<a href="https://reillyspitzfaden.com/#homepageStatus" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">reillyspitzfaden.com/#homepage</span><span class="invisible">Status</span></a>).</p><p>The especially nice part is that I now have a script (<a href="https://github.com/reillypascal/personalsite-ssg/blob/main/status" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/reillypascal/person</span><span class="invisible">alsite-ssg/blob/main/status</span></a>) so I can simply type `./status` in the terminal, write the status text in the resulting .md file that pops open, and then commit/push!</p><p>I've seen some IndieWeb people (e.g., <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://social.lol/@binarydigit" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>binarydigit</span></a></span>) do something similar via one of omg.lol's tools (<a href="https://home.omg.lol/info/statuslog" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">home.omg.lol/info/statuslog</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>) and liked it, but I wanted to see if I could DIY it just for the heck of it. Dave Pearson<p>I've expanded the documentation for Hike (my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/markdown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>markdown</span></a> browser/reader for the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a>) and also moved it to its own little subdomain now:</p><p><a href="https://hike.davep.dev/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">hike.davep.dev/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/documentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>documentation</span></a></p>
Dave Pearson<p>Recently I've been making some updates and improvements to Hike, my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/markdown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>markdown</span></a> viewer for the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a>. I've now also started working on some proper documentation for it: <a href="https://blog.davep.org/hike/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">blog.davep.org/hike/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Textual" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Textual</span></a></p>
Mark Igra<p>Does anyone know if there is a <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/markdown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>markdown</span></a> editor with a good outline mode? Lots of em have a way to navigate an outline or collapse headings, but haven't seen anything with native markdown support that makes the thing you are editing *look* like an indented outline while editing. Even something like Word's crappy outline support would be an improvement. <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@davew" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>davew</span></a></span> do you have any suggestions? IIRC you've been on top of this space for decades.</p>
