I'm considering using a password manager. I run a minimal archlinux-based system. I don't care about synchronizing with any other machines, just about making an encrypted backup of the password bank in a file I can put in an exterman HD and not worry about. Any suggestions?

Even more importantly, what to look for and what to avoid when evaluating alternatives? (My scepticism against software is what kept me away from this type of program for the last decade and a half...)

So I go to pick my kids up at school and get there early the yearbook teacher wants me to come help her get photos from a Google photos album I made at a track meet a week ago.

I had sent her a link to the shared album but that "didn't work". It turns out because the school filters that site. "Can't you just air drop them to me"... Well, no, that's an iPhone only thing. So I suggest she bulk downloads the album on her phone. But the photos app doesn't have that option

@OrionKidder Yesterday, I told a room full of Free & Open Source Software advocates in a certain government that their work represented a critical and huge step backward. 🙂

They got it. Public servants are generally doing their work because they want to help their neighbors, and that's the core of the #FreeSoftware ethos — getting back to that core human nature of community.
